Position Summary 

The General Education Program under the College of Social Sciences is looking for applicants to the full-time faculty in Social Sciences.  The successful candidate will design and teach a new interdisciplinary, problem-based inquiry course called Introduction to Social Sciences.  Because the course is required of all students, we are seeking an enthusiastic team leader to collaborate with part-time and full-time faculty from other departments as well as within CSS.  

The position may also involve teaching in other areas of the College, depending on background and interest.  CSS includes the departments of Media and Communications, Public Administration, International Relations and Regional Studies, and Economics. 

 

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must have an earned MA in Sociology, Political Science, Psychology or relevant areas from accredited institutions. Applicants should have at least 3-5 years of teaching experiences in reputable universities and extensive professional experiences in the field of major areas. Applicants should be able to teach in English.

A valid certificate of English language proficiency should be provided by final candidates who are non-native speakers of English (The International English Language Testing System or IELTS academic with overall score 8.0 or equivalent).

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with online and hybrid course design and teaching is strongly desired, along with a demonstrated commitment to innovative, student-centered pedagogy.

Compensation

Rank and salary are competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications. In addition to salary, a benefit package includes basic healthcare insurance, reduced tuition rates for KIMEP courses, and subsidy for relocation allowance. New faculty members are provided with a reduced teaching schedule during the first semester. Summer paid teaching is typically available.
