Faculty Position (Open Rank) in Cognitive Science/Computational Linguistics/Natural Language Processing is effective on August 16, 2021.
In the area of cognitive science/ computational linguistics, we are looking for faculty who can teach some or all of the following courses: Introduction to Computational Linguistics, Corpus linguistics, Introduction to Natural Language Processing, Logic of Language, Text Mining, and other.

KIMEP University College of Humanities and Education invites applications for one faculty position (Assistant/Associate Professor). The position is a twelve-month (including vacation period) full-time academic appointment to begin on August 16, 2021 with the possibility of renewal. Responsibilities include teaching, research, scholarly activities, advising, and service. The new faculty will assist in the undergraduate and graduate programs offered by the department, particularly in our BA in Cognitive Science.

Expertise is desired in the following areas: Cognitive Science/Computational Linguistics/Natural Language Processing (at assistant/associate professor level);
Applicants for professorial positions should have:
a doctorate degree in a relevant field from an internationally-recognized, accredited university;
at least 3-5 years of teaching experience in reputable universities;
Prior research publications or clear evidence of research potential;
Industry experience would also be viewed favorably.

Limited on campus housing is available to rent, or alternatively, help is available in finding off campus housing. In addition to salary, a benefit package includes basic healthcare insurance, reduced tuition rates for KIMEP courses, and subsidy for relocation allowance. New faculty members are provided with a reduced teaching schedule during the first semester. Summer paid teaching is typically available.
The salary will be subject to deduction of taxes (10% Personal Income tax in general) as required by the Law of Kazakhstan.
