Full-time Faculty Position (Open Rank) in Public Administration
(Effective August 2024)
The Department of Public Administration at KIMEP University, College of Social Sciences, invites applications for a faculty position (at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professorial level in the area of Public Administration.
The position is a three-year full-time academic appointment to begin on August 16, 2024. The position is renewable upon mutual agreement. Responsibilities include teaching bachelor, master and PhD students, research and active engagement in extra-curricular and recruitment activities.
Applicants must have an earned doctorate in Public Administration, Public Policy, Public Management or a related field from an internationally recognized, accredited university. Applicants for the position should have at least 3-5 years of teaching experience in higher education. ABD’s will be considered if they include in their application materials a letter from their dissertation chair which confirms a defense date before the starting date of the position.
While we welcome applications from candidates with a background in any field of Public Administration, preference will be given to candidates who specialize in the fields of health administration or environmental management.
The College of Social Sciences
The College of Social Science has 25 full-time and ten part-time faculty members and four dedicated administrative staff. Apart from the Department of Public Administration, the College includes the departments of Media and Communications, Economics and International Relations and Regional Studies.

Rank and salary are competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications. Compensation after tax compares favorably with net salaries in western countries.
Limited on campus housing is available to rent or, alternatively, help is provided in finding off campus housing. The benefit package includes basic healthcare insurance, reduced tuition rates for KIMEP courses and a relocation allowance. Research-based teaching reductions are available. New faculty members are provided with a reduced teaching schedule for the first semester. Paid summer teaching is typically available.
