POSITION DESCRIPTION
Full-time Faculty Position (Open Rank) in Public Administration or Public Management
(Effective August 2021)
Position Summary
KIMEP University College of Social Sciences, Department of Public Administration, invites applications for one faculty position (Assistant/Associate/ Full Professor rank) in the area of Public Administration.
The position is a twelve-month (including vacation period) full-time academic appointment to begin on August 16, 2021 with the possibility of renewal. Responsibilities include teaching bachelor, master and possibly PhD students, scholarly research and active engagement in extra-curricular and recruitment activities.
Minimum Qualifications
Expertise is desired in one of the following areas: Public Administration, Public Policy, and Public Management. Familiarity with CIS countries or similar international experience is welcome.
Applicants must have an earned doctorate in Public Administration or another relevant field from an internationally-recognized, accredited university.
Applicants for the position should have at least 3-5 years of teaching experience in reputable universities and/or extensive professional experience related to the field. ABD’s will be considered if they meet the other qualifications of the position and include in their application materials a letter from the dissertation chair confirming a defense date prior to the position’s start date.
Administrative or management experience may be an asset.
The College of Social Sciences
The College of Social Sciences has an accomplished faculty of 20 full-time and 12 part-time faculty members and three dedicated administrative staff members. The College includes the departments of Media and Communications, Public Administration, International Relations and Regional Studies, and Economics.

Compensation
Rank and salary are competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications. After tax compensation compares favorably with net salaries in western countries.
Limited on campus housing is available for rent. The university offers help in finding off campus housing. The benefit package includes basic healthcare insurance, reduced tuition rates for KIMEP courses, and a relocation allowance.
The salary is subject to the deduction of a 10% personal income tax payment in accordance with the law of Kazakhstan.

Final candidates, non-native speakers of English language are required to submit IELTS academic certificate of the score 8.0 (9.0) or equivalent.
