KIMEP University Bang College of Business invites applications for following vacant position:
Post Title: Assistant Professor (Software Engineering)
Department: Operations Management and Information Systems (OMIS)
Academic Unit: Bang College of Business
Reports to: Chair of Department / Dean
Main Purpose of the Position:
- Initiate, lead, manage development and growth of a new Software Engineering program.
- Delivery of teaching and learning, including oversight and management of related academic activities and academic administration.
- Undertake research and publish required levels appropriate to academically qualified or professional status.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Undertake teaching and related activities as allocated by Chair, Dean or Director.
- Lead/manage programmes/courses, ensuring full compliance with quality requirements;
- Lead, manage and contribute to curriculum development;
- Lead, manage and support student learning processes.
- Provide mentoring and academic support for junior staff and students;
- Manage, supervise and invigilate examinations; other assessment duties as required by Faculty/Centre/NUR examinations office
- Initiate, lead, manage consultancy and knowledge transfer and/continuing professional development;
- Ability to engage in professional/personal research and contribute to team-based outcomes.
- Related duties that may be allocated by the chair, Dean or Director as appropriate.
Required Qualifications and Experience
Specific requirements: MES for accreditation and Attestation purposes defined by the Ministry of Labor are essential standards for employment: DS/PhD or CS (Western style University) minimum 3 years educational/scientific work at Educational institute in area of specialization and, for progression to this grade, at least one year as a Senior Lecturer.

- Competence in English, including report writing and data analysis skills;

Preferred Combination of Skills/Abilities/Competencies (not all required)
- Current production experience in development of web/desktop applications
- Data structures, including but not limited to stacks, queues, linked lists, hash tables, and graphs
- Operating systems, memory management, I/O, file systems, how O/s work
- Working with Machine Learning and Big Data
- Object oriented programming languages (C++, C#)
- Interpreted scripting languages (Python, JScript, Java)
- Database development and integration (SQL)
- Mobile application development (iOS, Android)
- Project development models (Waterfall, Agile) and project documentation practices
- Advanced programming topics (graphics, AI, compiler, parallel programming)
- Web development
- Cloud Computing
- Microservice
- Secure Coding
