KIMEP is looking for applicants for the following position: 

Job Title:                     Mental Health Counselor

Division:                      Student Affairs

Department:                Student Affairs

Position reports to:     Senior Doctor

Job Purpose Summary: Facilitate and promote the cognitive, social and personal development of students.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

• Provide Counseling services for students;
• Use appropriate counseling processes and techniques for individual and group sessions to meet developmental, preventive and remedial needs of students;
• Work closely with staff and faculty regarding specific social/emotional needs of individual students to determine if social/emotional counseling is needed;
• Initiate availability of groups and act as a facilitator of group counselling sessions;
• Responsible for maintaining confidential records, tracking the progress of service users, and writing reports;
• Assure that all students have equal access to the counseling program regardless of race, national origin, sex, religion or handicap;
• Develop and proceed Psychological diagnostics;
• Develop workshops and seminars on various topics for internal publics on a regular basis;
• Partner with mental health student organizations and KIMEP Psychology department as needed;
• Perform other duties, as might be assigned by supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications: Masters degree in Psychology or related major; license for counseling services conduct; fluent English and Russian; applies ethics and standards of professional practice in the delivery of psychological services and observe relevant laws and policies that govern practice; demonstrate an awareness of the cultural differences and needs of students; participation in professional organizations and continuous seek to improve professional knowledge and skills.
