Please be informed that Residential Life and Housing Department is looking urgently for candidates to the permanent position:
Job Title: Specialist
Department: Residence Life and Housing
Division: Student Affairs
Position Reports to: Director of the Residence Hall
Job purpose summary: This position serves as a live-in professional staff member in KIMEP University student housing and is responsible for assisting department leadership in the management of the Residence Life and Housing program. This position promotes and provides educational, social, cultural, community service programs; enforcement of housing policies and contributes towards the overall management by ensuring departmental records are maintained efficiently and accurately processes are applied appropriately throughout the department of KIMEP University Housing.
Key duties and Responsibilities
- Provides live-in management of residence life programs including providing on-call duty responses during evenings, weekends and holidays.
- Provides emergency response through on-call assistance and consultation with public safety.
- Develops and conducts training programs for Residential assistants to ensure development of quality leadership, customer service, crisis response and mediation in case emergency.
- Leads weekly meeting with the Residential Assistants to ensure open communication and consistency of information.
- Provides leadership to the Residential Assistants to lead and develop robust residence life programming by initiating activities, programs, community development that address the social, recreational, educational and cognitive or resident lives.
- Mediates roommate conflicts when appropriate. Demonstrates a caring and patient attitude, utilizes conflict resolution skills to ensure effort is made to create satisfied residents.
- Ensures timely accurate reports to the appropriate personnel when disciplinary incidents occur
- Provides general support for recruiting, training and supervision of student workers.
- Assists in the coordination of student resident check-in/out process and ensures proper procedures are followed.
- Ensures visitors are welcomed and screened, as well as calls and emails are answered and directed accordingly.
- Collects all needed documents for RK student’s registration and ensures timely submission of the packs to the state agencies.
- Ensures student registration in the Residence Hall according to the legislation.
- Ensures correct use of emergency entrances and exits in cooperation with KIMEP Security Service.
- Control payment for accommodation;
- Work with RS’s in respect of students accommodation and move issues;
- Cooperates with local authorities on variety of educational issues ( Almaty, Medeu district Akimats )
- Keeps time sheets and submit to the HR department.
- Ensure timely Residence Hall fee payment by residents through working with the accounting program 1S (move-in; check –out; transfer room; check payment), in cooperation with an accounting department.
Minimum Qualifications:
Higher education;
English language knowledge;
Good communication and organization skills,
Team-player; rules for maintain of dwelling, general room a dormitory;
Basics of aesthetics, ethic, psychology and customer service;
PC skills at user level (MS Word, Excel, e-mail);
General knowledge of the law, rules and regulation and safety.
Preferred Qualifications: communicative, diplomatic, diligent, know sanitary and hygienic rules, any relevant work experience.
