KIMEP, Department of Financial Aid is looking for applicants to the following position:

 

Title:                           Student Financial Services Manager (SFSM)

Department:               Financial Aid Office

Division:                      Administration and Finance Division

Reports to:                  Director of Financial Aid Office  

 

Job Purpose Summary: Overall coordination of the Financial Aid Office’s database system activities and counseling.

Key responsibilities and Duties:

  • Perform financial aid distribution including internal and external scholarships, and employee benefits, in accordance to the established policies and rules;
  • Provide statistical and analytical reports and lists of students for financial aid distribution, work-study programs, exchange programs and other data, intranet, as well as by the requests of other departments or bodies including sponsors
  • Prepare accurate data, and orders and perform quality control, distribution, policies, reports, statistics, analysis, budget, online applications/requests, information for website, orders for tuition, stipend, accommodation, transportation, etc.
  • Maintenance of the financial aid database:

- Processing, monitoring, and analyzing application forms, requests, and other data including SS (late payment), IPP, student history, awarding and accrual financial aid, debt situation, LPF, personal info, checkouts, and other

- Correct input of data into the financial aid database: FA Distribution results, orders of other departments, students’ statuses, students’ Individual Payment Plans, Student History, intranet, etc.

- Reconciliation of data with the Accounting, CDD, Registrar’s Offices, Admissions, sponsors, etc

- Automation of data processing and other Office operations, creating new tools/applications for Office and students’ needs, writing technical tasks for CISC;

- coordination of duties related to the financial aid database performed by other employees of FAO

- Archive the database daily, record archives on CD disks (or other sources), and transfer it to the KIMEP Library

  • Post and update the information under Office of Financial Aid links on KIMEP’s website and Intranet
  • Counsel students and parents on all aspects of financial aid programs and financing options with a strong commitment to student satisfaction. Demonstrate and practice sensitivity to multicultural and socioeconomic issues of potential applicants and their families to provide them with a high level of customer care service;
  • Mailing and providing information/letters to different categories of students
  • Prepare printing materials, presentations, posts for social media in 3 languages, etc
  • Demonstrate integrity, and ethical behavior in working with confidential information and maintain a high level of confidentiality;
  • Coordination and implementation of Financial Aid Office’s projects/events FA Awarding Ceremony, Orientation sessions, University life, Open House Days, KIMEP Intellectual Olympiad, Excellence scholarship, webinars, etc.
  • Due to the nature and specifics of financial aid services, the administrator should be available and willing to work a varied schedule, including evening/weekend work;
  • Make proposals for changes in the policy and procedures
  • Cooperation with city authorities, the Ministry of Education, sponsors, other KIMEP departments: processing requests and preparation of reports;
  • Performing other duties assigned by a supervisor;

 

Required qualifications: Bachelor’s degree; professional user of MS Excel or MS Access; Strong logical thinking skills; advanced computer knowledge; able to work with a great deal of accuracy. 

Preferred qualifications: Fluent English, Russian, and Kazakh; Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science; Working knowledge in MS ACCESS, SQL, and query language; at least 2 years of working experience in relevant roles preferred; a very strong team player and very organized; able to prepare technical specifications and fulfill technical requirements as needed

Требуемая квалификация: Степень Бакалавра, знание MS Excel or Access, сильные аналитические и организационные способности, способный работать с большой аккуратностью, способный управлять контролем качества.

Предпочтительные квалификации: знания SQL, свободное владение Английским, казахским и русским языками, не менее 2 лет опыта на соответствующей позиции, способный выполнять технические задания; сильный командный игрок и хорошо организованный, Степень Бакалавра Компьютерных наук и информационных технологий.
